Well it was 64 entrant, with each person being allowed to choose up to three characters ;(

There were about 28 people in all, some picking three but most picking one or two. The guy I was playing was pretty much my only challenge...I knocked out one of his guys, he knocked out one of mine, and I finally beat him the third time to completely knock him out of the tourney.

But seriously, he had six or seven people around him cheering him on. The worst part is that after I lost, his chum was all for sportsmanship and shaking hands. Didn't say shit when I won.

Dedede is an interesting character, although I just can't seem to get good with him... Half of of his B moves are sorta crappy in my opinion.

I very rarely use his neutral B (inhale) and I never, ever use the jet hammer.

HOWEVER. I usually keep a constant stream of Waddle Dees coming, they're so useful and I'm naturally a pretty lucky guy, so I'll pull a Gordo pretty often. Apart from that, his back air is sicknasty and if you catch someone in a front smash, it's pretty much a one-hit kill.

About 80% of my fighting with Dedede is grabbing--his grabs have such high priority that others can't hit you when you reach for them. This coupled with his chaingrab is a disgusting combo. And even if you can't chaingrab them, a dthrow > dash will almost always hit an opponent that's trying to roll away. If they're more aggressive, just dthrow > fsmash and trust me, they'll never do it again.

so I'm playing this again.

I recently discovered a latent ability to be a huge dick with Peach and I don't know how or why, but I'm ready to take all y'all faggots on.

Dedede's forward smash is my favorite setup move in the game. There's a huge OSHIT factor that paralyzes the opponent with fear and it's pretty much a OHKO against anyone lighter than Mario.

Which is like,

half the roster.

Basic tips are learn the range of the dash, use your tilts (forward tilt is the best), grab a lot and use down-smash to beat up rollers.
