I would suggest a visit to the Outback Steak House just so you can grow accustomed to the food there and its culture. I've never been to Australia, but apparently it is customary to consume an entire "bloomin' onion" before each and every meal.
Make sure to rent Crocodile Dundee,Quigley Down Under, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Muriel's Wedding to better acquaint yourself with the people and their proud history.
