I haven't read of Cupcakes; but from what I know (and I tend to not XP), The Party Of One ep (as was all of season 1) was written prior to the show being popular. It could have been possible that Pinkie's insanity was magnified and adjusted later on due to cupcakes, but IMO this could have been just a coincidence. Even before cupcakes, most people speculated on PP's insane tendencies.
The song "Giggle At The Ghosties" from early eps drove people to speculate on a possible mental breakdown in the past that she uses laughing as a coping mechanism.
How much the writers made use of elements from the speculation remains vague to me.
Here's another Interesting one. In the Ep Birdle Gossip. The Pony who runs the spa is shown alone. After that ep aired, there was speculation that she had a twin sister and arts about it popped immediately.
A few months later with the ep "Green Is Not Your Color", Spa pony is shown with a Twin Sister! XP
IDK how many ideas they take from the fandom but they prolly do this alot. I still think some are coincidences 6_9 |

i just think it'd be so goddamn boss if they deliberately made that scene all the more tense for people who were aware of that story (i didn't know about it when i saw it the first time and i was STILL going "oh shit oh shit oh shit" when they did that...
eye thing). and on rewatching, pretty much all the music in that scene sounds like it's switching between
