Yep, I did that too Max. It was so much fun. I would eat some fried chicken for dinner, and then tie what was left to a rope. Soon enough, there would be some creature eating your food. Normally it was a crab, but I've also caught eels and water snakes that way.
It's funny thinking about doing that though, cuz I remember so many kids would just yank up the chicken bone and wonder why there weren't any crabs to be caught. You had to pull it out of the water extremely slowly, otherwise the crabs would just drop off.
