I remember a time, not that long ago, when it used to be the opposite matter that was the issue at hand: "why DON'T girls like me?"

You sound as though you are having some insecurity issues about yourself (like most of us mind you). Try looking into what might have caused those issues in the first place (i.e. someone at some point in your life might have told you that you were ugly).
