Spending thousands of dollars for a game that can't possibly live up to the hype it's generated? Who would be opposed to that?

If it does live up to the hype, you're going to feel really stupid.

Yes, but only for a moment, because I'll be destroyed when the universe collapses upon itself soon after.

Well, the game itself doesn't matter to me. The machine did, though.

Duke Nukem Forever will simply be in hiatus forever, always generating hype in hopes that people will buy other Duck Nukem games and merchandise. Hence the name. I'm an insider in the industry. Wait till I tell you all about the Metal Slug/Contra crossover game in the works

I'm actually starting to wonder what will happen when the game is actually released. I feel like investors are going to see how much time and money was invested in this game and if it's sucks, or even if it's just mediocre, it could change how people look at the gaming industry.

Maybe we'll see a resurgence of lower budget titles that are actually fin to play, as opposed to all these graphics-intensive mediocre games. Then again, maybe this will scare off a lot of investors, and we'll have a nice slump.

I think it's pretty obvious that the DNF they're working on now isn't the same game they were working on even two years ago, let alone back in the 90s. They just keep the name because everyone who knows anything about gaming recognizes it.

Which makes me wonder if that's a smart move or if they should go SORRY DUKE NUKEM FOREVER IS CANCELLED, DUKE NUKEM PLUTONIUM PROJECT 2 COMING OUT AUGUST 08.

It would be cool for something like that to happen. Like how i enjoyed the Serious Sam games more than the shitty Rainbow Six and other "Realistic" FPS games. I play action games for three things

1. EXPLOSIONS
2. BIG GUNS
3. LOTS OF ENEMIES TO FIGHT

The main reason why im hyped up on DNF is because im hoping that it will be a awesome throwback to the pure action FPS of the 1990's like DooM, ROTT, and Duke 3D.

Looks like it's gonna kick some ass. Textures kinda remind me of some of the CryEngine stuff.

That's incredible! 3D versions of the weapons from Duke Nukem 3D! Now I'm willing to give these guys another 12 years of development time!!!

Yeah, honestly? Showing that little kinda tells me that that's all they've got - a couple rooms and 4-5 weapons. The engine looks nice enough, I suppose, but any modern game should look like that.

I also don't doubt for a minute the reality behind their level 70 WOW characters joke.

I don't care if it's a good game, I just want them to finish it so the Duke Nukem franchise can get back on track.
