I think its so you can get the perfectly aligned smile, Jeanette.

While I certainly agree with the sentiment behind the commercials, they would probably want to tone it down a little.

Or, try and push it on late night cable.

Ya, but braces can take months and years. A hammer and chisel to your mouth can fix those mean old teeth right away.

Seriously, we've got people taking poison thats instantly lethal if used orally and injecting it into their faces to get rid of wrinkles. After that, I don't find any length for beauty far fetched.
