Some friends and I pitched in and got this box set for Jaeger for Christmas, and I finally saw some episodes for the first time the other night. This has got to be one of the funniest shows I have ever seen in my life, and Vivyan is the best character ever written.

I got it for Xmas myself, and I am enjoying it! I can't wait to show my sister and her friends. They'd love it!

Vyv's entrance in the first episode is the best entrance ever.

I like the one where London is flushed with rain, and Vyvian starts building a submarine out of cardboard

And when he eats the television set. Vyv has a lot of fantastic moments.

yeah.

That 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' parody in one of the episodes where they're playing hide and seek was absolutely hysterical too.

I wish I would have seen more episodes.

There are only twelve, I think. I ordered the second set just a few moments ago. I'm also giving Bottom a shot.

Yeah, has anyone seen much of Bottom or the other series those guys did together? I know there's one episode of each in the box set but I haven't been able to see those yet.

And I agree, Vivyan's entrance in the first episode is the best entrance EVER.

My personal favourite episode has to be the one where they go and compete in that University Challenge thing, and Vyvian blows up the competition by breaking the floor and throwing a grenade down the hole

I just ordered:

The Office - Complete Series 1
League Of Gentlemen - Complete Series 1
Bottom - Series 1
The Young Ones - Series 2
Red Dwarf - Complete Series 4 (2 Discs)

I'm a sucker for the BBC

Bottom isn't as good as the Young Ones. It's less sketchy and more sitcommy than the young ones. It's still got the violent comedy that the Young Ones has, but the Young Ones is much more absurd and funner to watch. It doesn't get too much better than the first episode that's on the set. Might be fun to watch once, but not worth buying, IMO

Bottom is a blast, but it's not as downright strange as the Young Ones. But still, it's worth it just for the Christmas and Halloween episodes.....how can you not like a cattle prod built out of rocks, a car battery, and giant metal poles?

Where do you get 'Bad News?' I know it's hard as fuck to get in Britain and I think it's only available over here as a pirate.

You can order it from amazon.com. That's what I did. It took a long time to get it but I got it.

You can probably get it from rhinovideo.com. Rhino are the ones who put it out.

ive seen bottom and young ones so many times its interfered with my childhood memories.

I have all the videos, live shows, the young ones 'bachalor boys' book, t-shirts, posters (including one stolen from a library)

i went to see bottom live 5 in december, which kicked ass (it was as good as the others, but seeing it live was something else). the was a funny bit where the did a 'young ones' moment and played out their old characters

im starting to watch episodes of the new statesman (also starring rik mayall)
