For people
with physical limitations, such as not having the use of your hands,
Nintendo was cool enough to create the Hands Free Controller. It was worn
like a vest and it used a "sip and puff" method to control the A and B
buttons - Sip on the straw to activate the A button, puff air into it to
activate the B button. The directional pad was controlled by using your
chin on a special joystick. Not sold in stores, the Hands Free Controller had to be ordered
through Nintendo's customer service line for $120 (or $179 for a package
with the controller, the system and a game).
There was
apparently a black model which looked more like something straight out of
and episode of Battlestar Gallactica, but I've never seen it for sale
anywhere so this could've been a prototype.
So to those
of you who used to whine about how using R.O.B. to play games was too
hard, after seeing this controller you should feel like a bunch of humbled
bastards.
