The cenobite was created before the contest was announced, so it's not like he made it for the contest. Furthermore, it wasn't very creative... it's just copying a pre-existing character. And creativity was the main thing that the entries were judged on. The emo dude was very nicely done, but it wasn't all that creative. Perhaps if he had a weapon or something else to make him more interesting he would've placed higher.
