Bin Laden Near Capture

Saddam had plenty of folks (international too) looking for him, too, and he, just like bin Laden, didn't seem like the type to give himself up willingly or to be hiding out in the boonies by himself. I'm a little in the dark, so please tell me what makes the two searches so different.
