On topic:
There's this game called Kid Chameleon for the Genesis, and one of the levels has a fucking spike wall chasing you to the right. At the end, there's a split in the middle. If you take the low road, you'll be trapped and eventually killed by the wall of spikes. You can't even see the dead end until it's too late.
