The Halloween Grab Bag!
My Appearance on VH1's "Totally Obessed" For Boo Berry!
by: -RoG-

Back in 2004, I was contacted by VH1 about appearing on a new show of theirs called "Totally Obsessed" to talk about my widely recognized love of Boo Berry cereal. It sounded like it'd be fun to do, and then when I heard that Fred Willard was hosting it, I was totally sold on the idea. So, they sent a camera crew out to my place and we basically made a comedy video showing the lengths to which I would go to in order to ensure the survival of my favorite Monster Cereal. I really enjoyed doing the segment and was really happy with how it turned out. The segment I did for the Food Network's "Unwrapped" show was fun too, but it had more of a serious informative tone, whereas the VH1 show let me just goof off and be myself. Well that and they gave me their card so I could buy EVERY BOX OF BOO BERRY CEREAL IN THE STORE. Yes indeed, it was a great day for this Boo Berry cereal fan.

As fun as the episode was, the show was short-lived, so unless you happened to catch it back in 2004-2005, there really wasn't any archive of it online after that. Fortunately, Dr. Boogie was nice enough to digitize my old VHS copy of it so we can now finally share the footage with you guys. You'll have to excuse the video quality in parts since it was from a copy of a copy, but it's still pretty easy to see most of the episode. Enjoy!

What is it about VHS that makes anything and everything look like it's from the 80's?

I think anything with RoG is going to look like it's from the '80s.

Boo Berry cereal is manna from heaven. Literally - ancient biblical texts have been retranslated to confirm this fact. That being said (and it was... just now), I always receive a box every year for my birthday from one of my friends. And THAT'S what makes them my friends, and not my enemies.

I remember seeing that on VH1, and going, "man, I'm so glad someone else has such a passion for the only awesome cereal on the planet". I think I watch this vid every year you post it, and say the same damn thing every time. Keep up the good work RoG. Fuck some Frankenberry/Chocula.

Lothalis, I do still have the Boo Berry costume, and while we'll probably have more forum contests this year, I doubt I'll be putting the Boo Berry costume up for grabs. The good news is that they finally released an official Boo Berry costume which can be purchased in Halloween stores this season. Check it out:

puppetgeneral39, probably because VHS was all the rage back in the 80s and it's obviously nowhere nearly crystal clear as DVD & Blu-ray discs you see these days.

BatmanJohnson, read the text above... I said they (VH1) gave me their company card so I could buy all the Boo Berry cereal I wanted. I was more than happy to take them up on their offer.

Nick, Target stores have it in stock this season and you can usually find boxes of it near the front cash registers (if not in their seasonal Halloween section). Enjoy!

BurnPianoBurn, er, this is the first time I've ever posted this video. As stated in the text above, Dr. Boogie was nice enough to convert my old VHS copy to a digital format so I could finally share it with everybody. Perhaps you're confusing this with my appearance on the Food Network?

So much Boo Berry after all these years and no ill side effects?

Hmm, I think the only side effect of eating so much Boo Berry was the creation of I-Mockery.

So how many more bowls before your skin turns blue?

I love Boo Berry, but that cheap blue food coloring must have some sort of long term effects. I bet if we gave you an X-Ray we'd see that all your organs are already the same color as the cereal.

Hmmm. They don't have it in Australia. Atleast. I don't think they do. I don't eat breakfast anymore...

Heh as it would happen I saw you on both the vh1 and food network. Actually I came to I-Mockery a bit after seeing the vh1 thing and was like haaaay don't I know him from some where? Then promptly ran out and bought my first box of Boo Berry. Yup one of those strange moments in life lol.

I suppose we need to get ya back on TV then eh? That or get Max Burbank a late night show on Comedy Central, what ever comes first.

Zounds, heheh yeah I hear that from time to time, people will have seen me on one of those shows and they just happen to be on I-Mockery. Similar fanbases I suppose.

Icculus, I just fixed the video, so now you can watch it no problemo! Stupid Youtube...

wastedsage, yeppers! I have two sticks o' the stuff. It's been out for years, but now it's more widely available at places like Walgreens.

Don't speak too soon ROG... I dunno what you did, but I can't watch it in multiple browsers. Flash players = BAD! Youtube would (even though it's flash) be the preferred choice as google makes sure it works across the board even thought it breaks down a lot.

I hope you can fix it cause I'd love to see the segment.

Just for the record frakenberry is waaaay better though. I mean come on! Boo berry isn't even a real monster parody, he's a stupid random ghost!

Working for Target makes my Boo Berry love easier to manage. I have RoG to thank for making me aware of this Godly treat. Now I just have to try the Boo Berry fruit by the foot.

StaleDonutz, nah those have been around for a while. What's funny is that it's based on a pre-existing flavor of theirs... all they did was slap Boo Berry on the box. I wrote about it back in 2007 here: http://www.i-mockery.com/blabber/200...ghts-and-more/

HowardC, had a few people test it and have had no problems loading it, so I dunno why it's not loading for ya. We had it on Youtube originally, but they removed it due to copyright blahblahblah.

Dr. V, glad to be of service, and enjoy the abundance of Boo Berry in your workplace!

The song was hilarious and Re's reaction to all of the cereal was cute. I've also never tasted the greatness of Boo Berry and I haven't been able to find any of the monster cereal for years. I'll have to check Target as suggested. Have you ever checked the serving size? 3/4 a cup!? 2-3 bowls MAYBE.

I'm having trouble seeing the video as well, I'm not sure why. It's just coming up as a white box and isn't loading at all.
