by: -RoG-

...CONTINUED

Onto the Dia De Los Muertos jack-o-lantern installment.

Viva las calabazas!

Fine representatives for the Day of the Dead.

Tributes to some popular graffiti artists, complete with a faux brick wall made entirely of pumpkins!

More graffiti artist nods.

And some more.

Mutant monster pumpkin heads illuminated in tanks of formaldehyde!

Doesn't get much better than this.

Oh wait, yes it does... the tanks slowly alternated colors.

I need these lining my living room.

I'll settle for even just one.

Yes, you're seeing correctly. They made a full Wizard of Oz display, complete with a yellow brick road leading to Emerald City.

Guess this means it's the Year of the Pumpkin, right?

And last up, they had a fantastic tribute to those who are no longer with us.

Now that's my kinda garden.

Of course, we couldn't leave without checking the gift shop and picking up some Halloween treats.

As you can see, there was more than one Halloween moon out. Loved this vintage Halloween style one!

Another Halloween tree.

Who goes there, Mr. Owl?

Give a hoot for Halloween.

You may recall I reviewed these "Dracula Drool" candy tubes in my big Halloween Candy Guide last year.

Batskull is watching over you.

More vintage style Halloween decorations.

You bet you'll see us again. Can't wait to see what new carvings they have in store for us this year!

And now, as a special addition, I present to you a 15-minute walkthrough video tour of the Rise of the Jack O'Lanterns!

Alright, I hope you've enjoyed this photo & video tour of the wonderful Rise of the Jack O'Lanterns event that was on display at Descanso Gardens. You can visit therise.org to learn more about when and where they'll be in New York and California this season. If you're within driving distance of any of their 2015 events, I *highly* recommend checking them out in person, because it's a truly unique Halloween event, and you won't believe just how impressive they are to see in person.
