I tried looking for a general thread to discuss t.v. shows. No luck.
I just finished watching the 20th anniversary of COPS.
This woman called the COPS on another woman because she sold her some bad drugs. woman 2 declined that saying she does not sell drugs, she's a prostitute.
Anyway, reason why I mentioning this, the clip was so old the 2nd woman was wearing a "Martin" T-shirt.
Ahh, Fox's glory days.
Then I proceeded to watch a few episodes of Martin.
Edit: prob still wont work.

You should have bought Dead Milkman shirt with the cow using the time machine then. I liked the first few seasons of Martin. I think Martin Lawrence was paid per character that he played.
I finally saw the beginning of the 1st episode of Mission Hill the other day. :)

Mission Hill is good, but like anything that is replayed too many times, I have grown to hate it. I'm watching Lost for the first time in my life. My mom already blurted out a part I haven't seen yet.

i've only watched weeds out of all of those milhouse, but it is worth watching. Very uneven writing, (the subplots for her brother in law are especially terrible, and the uppity fat black woman is annoying), but the overall storyline is good and it's pretty funny. I would say it's about half as good as Arrested Development

Chowder and Flapjack are my favorite shows on TV right now, if only because they perfectly contrast each other. One is a bright, colorful world with equally colorful characters. The other, however, is dank and gloomy, with at least one moment in every episode that will probably give you nightmares. And you definitely know that a Cthulhu episode is right around the corner...

I loathe Zimmern or whatever his name is
My brother watches him all the goddamned time and the fat fuck literally creams himself every time he shovels something into his gaping maw

It's not for everyone, but American Dad! is not Family Guy. If they were animated in differing styles the differences would be more pronounced. Both are good on their own merits, and I hope Fox (and viewers) learned a lesson from dismissing Futurama.

From season 4 onward I think Seth McFarlane lost creative control with his Family Guy It seems like FOX was like "Okay, we'll bring your show back because it makes us money. Oh, by the way. It's OUR show now and we're going to drop references to classic shows and start making 80's references every 3 minutes. Also Family Guy will now be unfunny. Also we're going to change the character types around. New Chris will be old Stewie. New Peter will be old Chris and New Stewie will be just more like a regular kid." and Seth was like "Ooooookay. Well I'm fine with that I guess. Except I get to make a new show and have the characters the way I want them to be. It's going to be like Family Guy + Paul Lynde." and FOX was like "Deal, except you have to have Paul Lynde be an alien and then also have a talking fish for some reason too."
That's my take on it at least.

Tool Academy which seems like a "Charm School" for guys on VH1.I was watching a clip of this with my girlfriend. Its like a show for cheating husbands and they parade them around in front of a bunch of women while their wives/girlfriends SECRETLY watch them and i dunno the winner is supposed to be who changes the most or something. ANYWAY we were watching this clip and the guys are doing a "fashion show" which is really more like a male stripper show, they walk around showing off their bodies and all the women in the audience go OOOLLALALA and some of the guys try to flirt with the ladies while their girlfriends secretely watch...
then this one guy comes out with a basketball and all the ladies are like ooolala. Then he's dribbling the ball and he loses control of the ball and one of the girls in the audience gets hit IN THE FACE WITH THE BALL

Everyone knows the iconic line from Die Hard where Bruce Willis yells "Yippie Kay Yay Motherfucker!" What's hilarious is watching Die Hard on network t.v. like USA or TNT where they change the line to "Yippie Kay Yay Mother Falcon!"
So anytime me or one of my friends are pissed in front of kids or at work we exclaim "Mother Falcon!" instead.

I thought homosexual referred to anyone who preferred the same sex. Not colloquially, maybe, but in the broadest general terms.
For example, Iceland's brand-new premier is homosexual. This might make her a Serious Homo with Serious Homo Problems.

I originally posted a list of my favorite shows (http://i-mockery.com/forum/showpost.php?p=604351&postcount=65) in the topic "favorite shows". I think that's how it's generally supposed to work on most forums.
Then, some bored 5th grader who has an icon of a cat wearing sunglasses started calling me a "homo" because of my "homo sig".
Why did I recieve a infraction, again? for responding to nonsensical posts that have nothing to do with the original topic? I was originally on topic before he started his "homo" tirade.
I don't hijack threads on any forum (I am a part of many, and I recently just joined here). I make posts relative to the topics -- and obviously, any posts after that are going to be responded to. If I was actually a "thread hijacker", that would mean that I came here to cause trouble, which I did not. Someone feeling the need to call others "homo" and de-rail the topic though, is.
Anyway, yes I'm in the 5th grade (whatever age that is), what of it? Does that make you feel better about being lame on the internet? Does it? No. Or maybe. I don't know.
LMAO! could have guessed as much. 5th graders are the only ones who seem to enjoy using the word "homo" as if it were going out of style. And, I was originally ON TOPIC unlike you, yet I recieve an "infraction" because some 5th grader picked up the coolest new phrase and just can't stop using it. It's an overused word, try learning some new ones, and stop trying so hard.
The word "homo" is mainly only used towards homosexual males. And, it usually only makes sense when the person is actually a homosexual. Using it as an catch all-insult for anyone you come across, doesn't really make as much sense when the person is actually straight.
"Homo" is also the preffered word of choice for teenage retards yelling on xbox live while playing halo.
I suppose you can call a female a "homo", but then again it makes more sense if said female is actually homosexual/lesbian/bi what have you. It loses all of it's meaning otherwise. If you call everyone a "homo" a "fag" and "gay", then what do you call actual gay people?
I think you can really call anyone a homo if they're an animeophile.
Or, if you're a bored 5th grader and using the word "homo", over and over and over again. You know what they say, homophobes are usually latent homosexuals themselves. If you're trapped in the closet, try finding the doorknob. It's not my fault that you're infatuated with gays.
Oh, I lol. But I suppose I can't expect much here, since these are the "I-mockery" forums, after all. Too bad the forums aren't actually as cool as the main site. That would rock.

Lost is probably my least favourite TV show because of the amount of time people spend discussing it as if it actually has a point. Each episode has about 3 sub-plots that ultimately go nowhere for the sole purpose of making people say "oooooohhhhh, this is so confusing! Where will this crazy roller-coaster ride of a TV show go next?!".
The thing is I'm not convinced it's going anywhere - it's just a series of unrelated "spooky" events (that are only "spooky" because of the discordant cello music they play in the background) that they later link though some tenuous encounter or lingering shot at the end of an episode.

The first few seasons were all about getting to know the characters and their unique histories. I never watched a show where you get to see the different backgrounds of characters before they met. And how can your opinion on a the quality of a show be affected by fans who discuss it. Thats the fun of a show with unanswered questions and since your not a fan of Lost i don't know how you would even get involved in a discussion on it. And I'm pretty sure most shows, especially science fiction shows, have a die hard fan base that love discussing unimportant things about the fictional world so you must be seeking out these Lost discussions or are just bitter you never started to watch and enjoy a great show.

Yes! I started about a week ago and I'm only about seven or eight episodes in, but I'm past the point where I'm merely trying to keep track of characters. I liked michael and michael have issues too, by the way, but always feel with those guy's shows that in every area apart from the jokes they can be pretty lazy. Both this and Stella have aesthetic issues that work for the Stella Shorts where the slap dash way they're put together helps the comedy, but not for 20 minute sitcoms. I thought the relationship between the sketch show and their universe's reality was unclear, and the sketch show lacked character. I mean, in a show like Larry Sanders you got an impression of what the show within the show meant to that world.
It's only the first episode so I shouldn't complain. It was very very funny, which is all that really matters to me personally, but that's not all that matters to most people and it's easy to see why a show like this would get cancelled early on, which frustrates me.

This topic is all about showing everybody your favorite show, anime, movie, hell even commericals. Please do not say that someone elses shows suck or say that your show or any other show is better. And no spamming or lying ok? Now, what is your favorite show? Let me introduce myself.

I just finished the first season of the Wire and I can't wait to start the second. I almost want to rewatch the first episode and see how different it is now that I know everybody.

I liked Locked Up Abroad when it was about stuff that wasn't the featured person's fault, like kidnappings and such. Now it just seems like a procession of fucknuts who don't realize that duct-taping heroin to yourself, trying to smuggle it onto a plane, is probably a great way to get in trouble in a third-world country.
And then it's all, "Wah! Wah! I can't go to jail, I'm an American!"
Did nobody read/see Midnight Express?

Yeah those are the best ones. This seasons opener was a good one. It was about two people who went to Peru or something. The girl knew she was smuggling back drugs but the guy she brought with her had no idea. He thought they were just on a vacation. They got busted and she went to a nice looking friendly womens jail while he went to a nasty hell whole where they got marched around but naked and beaten every day. I felt so bad for that dude. There was another one where it was just a dumb ass trying to smuggle drugs but he was given so many signs that it wasnt to to turn out good and had so many opportunities to just bail but didnt that it was still good.

It's a classic.
I recommend both book and movie, because some details were fudged in the movie and it really painted the Turkish people in a worse light than they deserved.
It'd be enough to persuade you that trying to smuggle drugs is a dipshit idea, anyway.

Billy Hayes is an interesting guy. A Turkish reporter tracked him down in Cannes a few years back and got a good interview (it's not in Turkish, although the first few sentences are).

At first I hated the American version of The Office, but it grew on me. Same with My Name is Earl.

My Name is Earl is surprisingly funny. Especially that one with Norm McDonald.

Farscape is being re-released on DVD (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Farscape-The-Complete-Series/12357) in November
I've never seen this show because the DVDs have been long out of print and only available for 150 bucks a season online, and now I can finally check it out since I've heard it's an amazing show which appeals to gay sci-fi fans like myself.
Has anyone else seen it? I know it's where Pub Lover's old "LIAR" avatar originated.

I used to watch it on TV when I was 15-16 and I remember it being pretty good. No idea how badly it's aged though.

It was awesome. The premise was original, the characters were real, they were funny, they develop and the ending was UNJUSTIFIABLE. SciFi cancelled it prior to the last season, so they had to "wrap it up" with a miniseries that forced the writers to tie up all the loose ends in 4 hours. They sort of succeeded. :(
Awesome news, Milhouse.
EDIT - Now I'm not sure if SciFi was the network that cancelled the show - I seem to remember it originally was aired on another network. Can someone help me out here?

Looks like SciFi pulled the plug a whole season early. That's strange. Never seen it before, I should rent the dvds.
