Demon's Souls? Block, Roll, Block Roll, that´s really all there is to it apart from knowing how to exploit the bosses :D Just give it some time, it´s getting a lot easier the more you play.

And playing offline is a good idea. You can´t see the other player´s hints anymore but you also can´t get invaded by other players when you need it the least.

Uncharted 2. Full game. I've already gotten a trophy; this was totally worth the money.
Fixed.
Also, I'm playing ODST. I kinda like it, and kinda don't. They cut out a lot of things; you can't pilot Wraiths, and they took out several weapons, like the Battle Rifle and the Assault Rifle, for the most part. When you DO find one, it's next to worthless, since you get two or three spare magazines, and ammo is few and far between. They also took out duel-wielding. I could understand this for the SMG and other automatic guns, but why the PLASMA PISTOL?
The campaign is kind of interesting; it's almost free-roaming while you're playing as The Rookie, which is fun and annoying; it's fun to not be stuck on a linear path, but it's easy to get lost for upwards of an hour, like I did.
I haven't gotten around to multiplayer yet, besides Firefight (which is AWESOME), but I've heard it's exactly the same as Halo 3.

I've been getting into free games lately, despite the fact that I pretty much pirate everything anyways.

A friend directed me towards a neat little flash game called Seed of Destruction. It's a game about a cowboy riding a giant sperm that beats the shit out of planes and tanks. You deflect missiles by flicking your tail at them, and there are a few different enemies that require different strategies. It's just a time waster, but I enjoyed it.

I also downloaded Squid Yes, Not So Octopus, which is a lot like Geometry Wars; simple arena shmup. I'm downloading Squid Harder right now to see what kinda upgrades they added. EDIT: Ow, my eyes. Fun game, but mostly just "watch shit explode while you hear funny phrases". Everyday Shooter is still my favorite arena shmup.

Also, Persona for PSP. Game's seriously dated, but a lot more "SMT"-y than Persona 4, which is good.

Aw, that mission's easy. Just park the Edelweiss in a trench and hit her with the mortar each turn. She'll be stunned until it's the enemy's turn (so you can run past her.)

At least, that's how I remember it. Really, once you've got enough people on the other side of the battlefield, it's just a matter of keeping that bitch in place with the Edelweiss. The enemy base is pretty easy to infiltrate once you've made it across.

I think that's the last "normal" mission before the fights start getting a little weird.

Its not that the mission was hard. I just didnt care for the sci-fi / fantasy (whatever you want to call that bitch) ancient civilization with magical super powers being thrown into the mix. Couldnt have just been a bad ass war game without getting anigayed with a tired out cliche?

BUT THE VALKYRIA ARE A METAPHOR FOR THE SUPPOSED "MASTER RACE" FROM WORLD WAR II, ATTEMPTING TO OPPRESS GALLIA, WHICH IS ACTUALLY SWITZERLAND. SO ACTUALLY IT'S VERY DEEP, YOU'RE JUST DUMB, ACTUALLY >:

Fair warning, that whole race thing becomes pretty important at the end of the game and kinda brings down the second half. Hence "Valkyria Chronicles" and not "Plain Old Awesome Wartime Chronicles". But the missions get pretty fucking awesome, too. There's this land dreadnought you have to pile your soldiers onto, and you have to use this clever trick with the tanks and the landscape to beat it. And this crazy minefield you have to finagle your way through.

They definitely make up for the stupid story with some great combat. I still haven't tried the DLC yet. Hard Mode is supposed to totally change a lot of the missions, and the side story with Edy, Marina, and Gay Bender looks awesome.

So, Half Minute Hero. It's a game where every level is its own self-contained RPG, and you have 30 seconds to beat it or the world ends. It's pretty funny, and a few of the levels are really clever, since they run the gamut of silly RPG cliches.

I haven't tried the other modes yet. One of them has you controlling the villain, and another has you playing the princess in a shmup (with a 30 second curfew, of course).

Oh! And A Boy and His Blob! That game is fantastic.

Oh, I also downloaded Lucidity. Between that and Boy and His Blob, I'm having massive cute attacks.

Lucidity is pretty cool. Fucking gorgeous graphics. Kind of a sappy story, and the mechanics get frustrating since the mouse controls "snap" to a grid and the keyboard controls are uselessly slow. Still, it's got all the appeal of an "art game" (clever use of story, very pretty) without any obtuse bullshit metaphors. Pretty fun for $10.

Yeah that and the limitation to 4 active Powers per Character really bug me out. Sure, most powers were useless or copies of other powers in the first game but at least they were there...

Beat the first three modes of Half Minute Hero. Hero mode is really, really, really fun. I can usually crank out two full quests in a short bus ride, but since they're just condensed games, I still feel pretty accomplished when I beat each boss. Plus, the story is hilariously epic, and some of the quests are really clever.

Evil Lord and Princess modes were a bit depressing, though their stories were a little funnier. I'm working on Knight mode now, which is a bit strange, since it's the only game where you're actually trying to make the timer reach zero.

I played a little of it for PS3 at my friend's place.

It's...weird. It's a lot more confusing than the other rhythm games out there. You definitely need to "grow into" the weird controller. But DJing is something I've always wanted to try, so it was kinda neat.

I downloaded the mash-ups from the game. Some are kinda meh, but some are really awesome. Playing to the beat of "Ice Ice Baby" mixed with "You Can't Touch This" was weird. Daft Punk actually made a few of the mash-ups too, though I think all the tracks they made are of other artists' songs.

I've been playing it on the Wii for a few hours and I think it's pretty good. I've got two (dusty) turntables that I scratch on for fun rather than any talent, but I can still say with some authority that the game is in no way related to actual turntablism. I'm not complaining though. The music is of a very high quality, I thought, even though I dislike a lot of the artists, and it seems that there is a lot to master in the game before I will get bored (I'll stop playing it in a week, probably). I've never played guitar Hero, so it might be easier if you have matered that.

The fucking crossfader on the DJ Hero controller is fucking pissing me off now. You can't flow from left to right easily because there is a "middle" part that the fader slots into. You have to go left - middle - right, rather than just left - right.

I was playing Bioshock, but my Xbox had other plans. Namely, dying.

I don't know why I didn't think of just buying a bunch of film and spamming the camera the first time I played it. Gunfights are way less annoying and Half-Lifey when you do 3x damage to everything; otherwise you might as well walk up to enemies and start spitting on them. You also get free tonics, the best ones being the wrench boosters. I stacked those on top of the 50% damage increase you get for studying Bouncers and got stupid powerful to the point where I was taking out Spider Splicers in one or two hits.

As you progress, God makes more rules, like "Don't touch the sides of blocks" or "Don't walk right", and the levels get pretty clever. Doesn't take more than an hour to beat, if that.

Price snuck aboard the sub and launched the nuke at Washington. The nuke detonates in orbit, and the resulting EMP disables all the Russian air and land vehicles, as well as every other electronic device in the city (such as your red dot and holographic gun sights).

Prior to the sub mission, Price talks with Shepard about putting out oil fires by causing nearby explosions, and you see computer graphics of the nuclear missiles in the sub. The game loves to hint at what's happening with euphemisms like this.

Whether doing all this was exactly Price's intention is hard to say on account of the crap writing.

I think the one yelling was MacTavish. He was like "the silo-door are opening Price! Puh-riiiiice!" and Price just said "...good." and launched the nuke...

Anyway, the multiplayer mode is a lot of fun again, but I tend to shift from fun to genuine anger (not rage, I donīt do rage with Videogames), filled with lots and lots of german and english insults and curses (which only the other two guys on the Teamspeak can her thankfully) to wondering if the world is filled with the singing english kids and american mumblers mentioned somewhere up there. The only one I've played so far is the Final Fantasy: My Life as a Darklord one, and it's basically that minigame from FF7 where you'd put a bunch of soldiers in front of Fort Condor to stop Shinra from coming in and wrecking your shit, and then you'd hope they'd get attacked in an order where they'd be effective. Only with graphics that aren't horrifying and actually let you know what the fuck's happening.

I keep meaning to get Lostwinds 2. Game looks awesome.

LittleBigPlanet came out for PSP. Been playing that. I don't have access to a PS3 during school semesters, so I'm happy to have this. And on the go, to boot!

After listening to the Retronauts podcast on Yoshi's Island, I'm booting the game up. That was such a phenomenal game. Awesome graphics, great music, and amazing boss fights.

Also, more LBP PSP

I need to get it. I didn't know it was out yet.

Or is it? :lol Never know, with the PSP crowd.

I mentioned it in my last post :(

It's been out for a few days. Sony's been running some ads on TV, but other than that, I only knew it was out because I saw it on a list of this week's releases.

It's pretty damn close to the original. There are only two planes instead of three, and respawns are infinite (though they cost you points), and there's no multiplayer, but aside from that, it's exactly the same.
