The push/pull system was kind of tough at first since it does rely on really quick timing, but once I got it down, I could fight those 100 dude battles so quickly. I had to flip the difficulty all the way up and then it was way challenging.

I get pushing to break through blocks, but pull is almost useless unless your opponent is a total maniac who's always pushing. And keep in mind this is all on easy, when you get a little icon telling you when your opponent is pushing/pulling. As far as I can tell, there's no other indication beyond that. Really, all I wind up doing is using push for some blocks, and otherwise just mash the weak attack button all the time to break through when the other guy tries to pull.

And I did eventually find the sword in the stump. I never bothered to look there originally because of all the invisible collision in the game, but I haven't used it that much because I already pumped up another draw-style sword that didn't have the big negative def stat on it.

As far as I remember, you can read the animation of your enemy to determine wether to push or pull, at least I think that´s how I always did it.

Alice 2 is really not a bad game so far but it seems to be way too long for it´s own good, it really drags.

all this diablo talk has me playing through diablo 2 again. i guess at some point they patched it so you don't need a cd in your drive anymore, but i'm surprised they didn't do something like implement a system to sell increased storage space. i was living off ramen when i was playing this regularly but i woulda robbed a hobo for $5 or whatever if it meant doubling that pitiful storage bin

I know how to get thief working on windows 7, but I know nothing of the demo. I say find the full game and follow these steps:

1) Install by running setup.exe -lgntforce to bypass the "This won't run on windows NT" message
2) Right click on Thief.exe, selected Compatibility, and Run As Administrator and XP Compatibility Mode.
3) Start Thief up, opened options menus and quit, just to generate config files.
4) Unpack DDFix into Thief folder (for me, e:\games\ThiefG)
5) Replace the stock Thief.exe with pre-patched Thief.exe from http://www.saleck.net/Downloads/Thief-TheDarkProjectGold/DDFix-Thief1.zip It's necessary as the DDFixGUI does not do very well with 64bit windows. Manually patching the .exe with a hex editor is possible, but this was much simpler.
6) Right click on the new Thief.exe, select Compatibility and Run As Admin and XP Compatibility Mode again.
7) Unpack http://www.filefront.com/13839558/DarkWidescreen-v6r3.zip into Thief folder and rand DarkWidescreen.bat, setting up the resolution (1680 by 1050, 100 FOV)
8) The game should work and even show the cutscenes.

It'll be a pain in the ass, but that's how to get thief running on a modern computer.

Well, it was running without any comp modes for a bit, but then just freezes. So far, changing to xp, 98 or 95 has LESS success. Not sure if the fix will help, but I'll try!

13hrs into Xenoblade and loving it. This is, what FF13 should´ve been like in terms of pacing. Instead of waiting 25 hours for the game to finally just let you do your thing while boring the hell out of you with mediocre automatic battles and rather useless story-sequences that serve only for you to learn to hate each and every character of the main cast, Xenoblade gives you the gigantic plains with lots of monsters and quests and collectibles after 3 hours while making the journey to and from said grassy plains highly enjoyable.

Those guys from Monolith Soft deserve a fucking medal. Or ten.

You get it from the fight where you fight the other worker robot guy. You have to put your robot next to one of the pedestals, jump on his head then onto the pedestal. If you FIND ITEM(or whatever it is where you find items if you land on a spot) you get a gold escutcheon. It has the same name but the armor value is way better. I think there is a gold lance or some shit on the other pedestal too.

edit: found a better explanation

Ultimate Javelin and Escutcheon:
Yes, there is another version of the Javelin weapon, and of the Escutcheon Shield. They are called the same things by the game, but I assure you, they are very different!! Both of these items are found at Nelveska Temple. To get them, make sure you have someone with the following requirements:

1. Move-Find Item (Chemist's Movement Skill)
2. At Jump height of at least 4 (Equipping Germinas Boots helps here)
3. Low Brave (30 or less, Rafa and Beowulf have fairly low brave, so they'd work)
4. A Dragon (including Reis), Tiamat, Morbol, Worker 8 or some other big monster in the battle with you.

Now enter the battle there. Let the two Hyudras fly off the pillars, then kill them. Now put Worker 8 or your monster up next to the pillars and your Move-Finder should be able to jump on top of them and reach the tops of the two pillars. On top of them, you'll find a gold Escutcheon, and a tan Javelin. If you're brave is too high, or you just get unlucky, you might get a normal, weak version of either item. If this happens, just reset and try again. You can also fidn some other interesting items here like a Sasuke Knife somewhere back on the green hill behind the temple, and a Nagrarock in the very back of the cave where Worker 7-New starts.

What's so good about the Ultimate Javelin and Escutcheon? Well, first of all, The ultimate Javelin has an attack power of 30!! That makes it one of the best weapons in the game, second only to the Chaos Blade!! And the Escutcheon has a Defense power of 75 and a magic defense of 50, making it easily the best shield in the game!! Be SURE to get these items, but remember, if you're already past Nelveska Temple, you can't get any of these...

Passed the 30 hour-mark in Xenoblade yesterday. The design of that game is still amazing. They actually manage to make each location more beautiful and interesting than the one before it and most locations are even nicer at night.

Also, Xenoblade manages to create these tense moments that you normally only get at the very end of a JRPG when the party hast to make that final desperate attempt to stop whatever they fight against not only once or twice but I think 3 or 4 times over the course of these 30hrs, partially thanks to the great music in the game.

I´m up to 6 Partymembers now and each of them is quite unique in the way they handle and what they do well. You got your designated Tank, Offensive Halftank, DOTer, you got plain DDs...The only thing I don´t like is that while the Main Character is not use- or powerless, he´s nowhere near the strongest guy in the group since all his useful skills rely on you not getting the attention of the enemies, which in turn means you have to take along the Tank as your second fighter. And since you just can´t afford not to take a healer along that pretty much limits your Party-Choices, at least when it comes to Bossbattles. None of that is a problem, since your inactive Partymembers also get XP, AP and SP (at a slightly reduced rate until you unlock a certain skill), but it annoys me nonetheless, especially since one Partymember has such good offensive moves that it makes sense you actively play him when just questing or running around.

Still, this game is a 10 in my book, it does so many things right than so many other games got wrong in the last years, it´s amazing how they could´ve missed all these easy fixes to year-old problems.

Deus Ex: Yellow Edition.

It's pretty good. Controls are a little spotty. I might try switching to gamepad. I just wish the game was a little more generous with points so I could get more augments. You "level up" and end up stuck deciding between something AWESOME like cloaking and something practical like boosting your battery recharge. Then you decide FUCK THAT I'M GETTING THE CLOAK until you realize it only lasts three seconds, and now you have to either augment your battery life or augment the stealth to stop hogging up your battery. Meanwhile you're missing out on shit like seeing through walls and getting line of sight added to your radar or lifting heavy shit.

So far I ended up putting all of my points into hacking. Hopefully it pays off because my dude can't do any super stuff yet. I pretty much crippled myself right off by going stealth/non-lethal/stun gun. So I'm crouching around with a baby stun gun all over the place. I did finally buy a tranq gun, but I still end up using stun most of the time. Really fun game though, so far.

Phoenix Gamma
Aug 24th, 2011, 12:07 AM
I kept most of the guns I've found since I upgraded them early on. But since I play stealth, I end up hoarding them, then never using them until boss fights (WHICH FUCKING SUCK, BY THE WAY. THEY REALLY FUCKING SUCK.) I played a lot of MGS so stealth with a peashooter is something I'm used to. Though I do crack a good share of skulls along the way. My favorite map so far has to be the one where you sneak into the base leading up to the first boss. There are a lot of great little moments there.

As for upgrades, I haven't upgraded past 4, which I've still only seen a handfull of. Haven't relied on cloak as much as I'd like (this isn't TF2 :( ) but the icarus parachute upgrade is VERY handy for shortcuts, and the line of sight radar is nice.

There was one mission where I was in a whore house. I snuck into one room and a guy and a girl were on the otherside of the doorway. The guy heard me and shouted. I barreled through the door, mashing on Takedown hoping to knock him out before he shot me. Except the whore ran through the door first and ate a knuckle sandwich right to the face. Then I was out of energy (WHY DON'T THE OTHER BATTERIES RECHARGE???) so I had to shoot the other guy. I heard someone coming my way, so I dumped the bodies (yes, even the unconscious hooker) off the balcony and parachuted down after them. :lol

Right, so I got my copy of Deus Ex 3 yesterday and played through the first mission and the Detroit-Hub after that. This is one good game, really. A lot to do, well written, even the german dub is okay so far, Jensenīs VA actually read dialogue, not just lines (still gonna get a UK-360-Version).

Concerning Augmentations, I put most of my praxis (why the strange name, never heard that in english) points into hacking which is a fun little minigame and since thereīs no lockpicking or electronics-bypassing anymore, hacking seems to be WAY more important than in DE1.

At first I was really pissed about the absence of Skills, you know, Low-Tech, Swimming, etc. But it seems like they integrated most of them into the Aug-System and just got rid of the weapon-skills which kinda makes sense, given Jensenīs past, he should know how to handle regular weapons quite well.

The only thing I regret is not picking the Taser in the beginning. The stupid Tranq-Rifle is nice and all but thereīs no fucking ammo for it :lol

All in all, a great experience so far.

I just hated dealing with the bosses so far. I have no experience using these lethal weapons since I'm going through the game non-lethally knocking everyone out. Dr. Boogie
Aug 25th, 2011, 04:17 AM
The best way I've found to deal with bosses (at least the first one) is to hold onto those little explosive packets and blow those up near him. I think two of those will do the trick.

Phoenix Gamma

The bosses clobber anyone specced and geared for stealth. Shit sucks.

I felt pretty boss getting the achievement for shaking down that one asshole in Malik's mission on y first go. Then I punch him fir being a dick. Wanted to do that to te boss during that one debate in his office. Won that on my first go, though, so there was no need I guess.

k0k0
Aug 25th, 2011, 08:55 AM
The first boss was a lot tougher than the second. Maybe because I had 3 different lethals that I was saving just for the next boss I fought (I picked points so that I could carry the full amount). So I am pretty much carrying around 3 non-lethals and 3 lethals at all times. And only use the lethals for bosses. Would be easier if I knew when I was reaching a boss so that I could just start picking them up.

OxBlood

I think it took me about 8 tries to beat the first boss...he´s stupid. you can´t let him near you, you can´t be in the open when he´s firing and if you throw grenades at him, the throws 20 back...now, I´m not a non-lethal Jensen, but I´m a hacker, which means no heavy weapons for me, only handguns and light automatics, avoiding combat if possible...not a good setup for the boss.

Fathom Zero

I did it on the hardest difficulty, too. If I step out for a second, I'm blown away. Thankfully he was a stupid fuck and walked away as I kept spinning around him using a column. I hit him with the explosive bomb-bag looking thing then used the machine pistol I found there. Then I hit him another time with a concussion grenade and unloaded six shells from the shotgun into him. After that, he started throwing three grenades at a time. I just stepped out of cover to put a few more in him and he went down easy.

Shortly after, my "demo ended." ;)

I was nervous about the game all of the sudden, so I decided to use my internet powers and sample it. It's pretty good and I think I'll end up getting it. :D Even with the fucked bosses.

I'm gonna go back and silently slaughter everyone in the police station. Or walk into the middle of a big room and use my Typhoon. Either way. :lol

I turned the difficulty down from normal to easy and unloaded a whole clip on the boss, and that killed him. Then turned it back up to normal. It wasn't a "man this is really hard" thing, it was a "man, this isn't very fun, I want to get back to the fun part" thing. I'm gonna do a second playthrough and deal with them then. I just want my first play to be fun before I start obsessing over achievements and shit.

I was at work today wondering what would happen if I went up to Sarif and offed him with a silenced pistol. I think I'll go try that now.

I too just finished DE3. Impressive rebirth of a beloved franchise if you ask me. Almost flawless, a lot of fun, rather compelling story (still, it´s pretty easy to tell where they go with it at any given time but how it makes one think about some things is pretty well done).

Gameplaywise it´s true to the original but streamlined to fit the times better and I think it succeeds at that. I was a little disappointed that there was no second "wave" of Augmentations, what you can see once you start is all you´ll get and k0k0 is right, after 2/3, you simple fill slots with all those Praxispoints.

Very good game, highly reccomend playing it if you even remotely liked the original.

Borderlands was $7 with all DLC on Steam, so my two friends and I got it to play online together. Well, they started without me, so when I joined, I was level 1 to their 6, and couldn't do their quests and got raped constantly. Apparently my connection is shit when I make a server, so that's out.
We started a new game, but they then went and got way ahead of me again, so I can't even do much damage to anything! So, I just went offline and beat the entirety of Dr. Zed or whatever. Because fuck you guys; I'm going to take ALL THE KILLS NOW.
Also: "Hey guys, get near my turret; it'll regen your health and ammo!"
"LOL NO"
My friends are retarded.

Your friends do sound pretty retarded. I remember when I was going through borderlands we made a pact not to play it when the others weren't so we all went through together. It worked out really well and we all got into kind of a machine rhythm with how we did things, knowing how to act in each situation. We went through the whole game twice with our characters and got them all up to max level. Was a great time. I can't wait for borderlands 2.

When I first played it, I wasn't too impressed, but this time seems more fun. The only problem is that my friends have a mentality like "Grab everything before anyone else can; run ahead of everyone to win!" while I'm trying to keep everyone alive and provide support. I'm trying to tell them that I'M the damn Soldier; they're the Sniper and Siren, so THEY should hold back while I aggro, instead of them rushing forward and getting smacked around.
At least I'll get my small moment of asshole triumph on them with all my overpowered weapons.

I thought it was kinda weird how much emphasis the ads put on them holding guns, when all the things I read about the game emphasized that there would be very few guns, and focused on melee combat.
But that's just my weird observation.
As for the Borderlands plot: There's a big ol' hidden Vault full of treasure rumored for generations. You and your party are looking for it. Stuff happens along the way. The Vault ends up to just have a big vagina monster in it and nothing else.

Turns out that Borderlands multiplayer isn't much fun at all. I tend to take things slow, while my friends are practically playing a goddamn speed run with all the quests. Bought myself a 3DS. So far I love it; it's sleek, shiny, and has a bunch of neat features.
Still playing Borderlands; it got better for a bit, but now that we're playing Moxxi's Underdome Riot, it's gotten much much worse. My best mate, playing Mordechai, is generally cool; we work together well, and he stands still so I can actually use my healing abilities with him.
My other friend, playing Lilith, got his hands on several obscenely powerful guns with x4 elemental chances. So, he's now just zipping across the stadium, exploding stuff, taking all the kills, and generally being an ass. I finally stopped trying to heal and revive him because fuck it.
Also, if anyone's up for some Borderlands, Killing Floor, or TF2, my Steam is lordsappington. Yaaay

The only thing I hated about playing the game about 60 times was the amount of times I had to fetch old woman panties. It seemed like that quest just pissed me off. Other than that, the game was great. I'm glad you got into it more. I wish I had all the achievements, but it takes forever to learn a sword.

Dr. Boogie
Sep 4th, 2011, 02:41 AM
Learning? Nah, I just bought all the scrolls I could afford, learned all the skills for a sword, then I'd kill the shopkeeper, take back my money, leave town, and start it up again until I knew everything. Takes a little while, though not nearly as much time as getting the swords themselves, and a whole lot less than trying to learn the skills the honest way.

The one quest I hated, and I never wound up seeing it through, was the one where you have to cut all the women's dresses with your sword without hitting them, all while they run around like idiots. Whoever came up with that quest is an asshole.

kahljorn
Sep 4th, 2011, 03:06 AM
so basiaclly the quest was to get women naked without killing them with no ramifications whatsoever and you have a problem with this

Dr. Boogie
Sep 4th, 2011, 03:43 AM
Not naked, you just cut off a couple extra feet of fabric so their legs are exposed above the knee. The trick is finding the exact distance to stand from them so you don't wind up slicing them in half, and using a sword that had the right attack that'll hit in the right area.

I was getting paid the same amount for that job as I was for transporting a letter to a messenger who was 50 feet away. Those women can undress themselves.

After Deus Ex I decided to pick up Alice: Madness Begins. It's ok. Level design is a bit too unimaginative at times, considering it's supposed to be Wonderland. There have been a few really cool ideas though, and I like the parts where you go back to the real world. Creates a nice contrast. The controls and camera work well enough, so the platforming stuff isn't too frustrating, and the graphics are decent. Oddly, when opening the weapons menu for example, it's choppy as hell. The game itself runs fine, so I don't get it.

HD version of the original Alice is a nice bonus too. Played it for a bit and it still seems like a solid game.

In terms of gameplay, Dead Island is a melee-centered survival horror game in an open world enviroment as far as I know. You can hack away at your opponents (watch your stamina), throw things at them or unleash your mighty rage-attacks. Your weapons need to be maintained, firearms are not very common (it´s a holiday resort after all) and fighting the zombies is most of the time not as effective as trying to bypass them as one reviewer put it.

Killing the undead and completing quests (of which there seem to be a lot) nets you XP. Level up and you can put upgrade points into one of 3 skill trees. I don´t know if those trees are unique to each character or if it´s just one. You can also upgrade your weapons via blueprints and money, find collectibles and so on and so forth.

Aparently the game takes around 20-30 hrs to complete and it is playable in coop from start to finish.

...and I still don´t have it which slowly but surely makes me angry.

k0k0
Sep 6th, 2011, 09:30 AM

I played about 4 hours of Dead Island yesterday. This is one good game, let me tell you.

First, it has guns but not many which is awesome because this game somehow manages to create a feeling of dread and threat I haven´t seen in a while. All while the sun shines down on you and the ocean sparkles in the distance. I actually stopped and listend to the survivors cowering in the wooden shacks on the beach, trying to be as quiet a possible, going insane or just losing it crying for their mommy. Those pixelated beings are terrorized and I believe it.

The combat is actually really fun cause it tries to be a little more realistic since you simply won´t HAVE firearms in a place like that (or anyplace outside the US or the middle east for that matter ;)). As a European I can really relate to that, when we think "improvised defense" we think in terms of tools and kitchen appliances :lol

Anyway, combat is fun, the weapons are varied from planks over diving knifes and hammers to deodorant-bombs, they´re moddable, upgradable and they break quickly which adds to the survival aspect of the game since this really is a survival-horror game. You also tactically cripple the Zombies, break or cutt off their lims to slow them down and kick the shit out of them. It´s especially fun to kick them into the pools watching them struggle to get back out :)

The skilltrees look a little bland at first glance but they´re pretty usefull as far as I can tell. Each character has a different focus (and they all have different skill trees mostly), one even functions as a sort of Paladin (for lack of a better word), improving teammates and things like that. Oh and that character also always carries a gun (but she can only use it in Rage-Mode).

Even the quests in this game seem good as they all make sense so far. Fetch medical supplies for the girl bleeding out on the floor, help repair the generators for the lighthouse, look for survivors of a plane crash, things like that.

As far as I can tell from my brief experience with the game, this is a definite must-buy for any Zombie fan :)

at first i just used weapon mods to make the enemies actually die when they get shot in the head. Then i tried those alife mods. Really make it more fun.. there's a few that completely change the whole game -- some even change the storyline.

Yeah, the gun thing really put me off, initially. I snuck up on this old building filled with enemies, and had to put two clips into a guy before he finally keeled over. Then I got a shotgun from one of my dead allies, which was great, but even that seemed pretty weak. I mean, a blast from a sawed-off shotgun should cut right through a guy in a rain jacket.

I think LURK has a weapon mod so its probably a good one to start off with.
only thing about weapon mods is that it makes you die faster too :O until you get combat armor or something :O i remember finding a stash of like 2 really good combat armors and after that i just rocked a shotgun with slugs and killed everybody.

Yeah, In LURK you only need one shot to the head, or 1-2 in the torso area (if they are not wearing bodyarmor). Another cool feature is, that sometimes the enemies receive a fatal gutshot that doesn't kill them right away. They're bleeding for a while and trying to limp away before they die.

I´ve crossed the sewers in Dead Island and heck, the game get´s a lot harder once you reach the city but I really like it that way. What I don´t like is that I never have enough money to keep my weapons maintained properly.
One funny thing I actually agree on with a friend of mine...the game is more fun offline without coop-buddies. It´s nice to play with them but most of the enviroment seems to be built for one player only and the whole atmosphere is gone once you go online of course...

I also got my copy of Space Marine the other day and played that for a bit too. Solid but immensly stupid in both gameplay and story but that´s to be expected of a warhammer game I guess. Which doesn´t mean I don´t like the game, it´s pretty fun, even the Multiplayer is kinda okay so far. Takes forever to level though and you have to get to level 4 before you can customize anything. What I like about it though is that you can steal your killer´s equipment, so if some highlevel asshole kills you, you can get the same stuff he hast...until you die again.

Just about finished with Shadows of the Damned. Good game, even though it is pretty short. Really could've used a new game+ mode, what with a single playthrough being around 6-7 hours. Still, I did laugh at how many different takes there are of Steve Blum saying, "Taste my big boner!"

Started up Dynasty Warriors 7 the other night. I like the new changes, particularly the ability to equip different weapons at any time so you don't wind up stuck with anything crappy.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Never played it, and decided to give it a whirl when I saw it on sale in Steam. I googled a few essential mods to improve the gameplay and graphics. Weird game. Everything seems very static and fake, NPC AI is pretty bad, there are too many useless dungeons and there aren't that many intresting quests, but somehow i'm extremely addicted. I like stealing shit from peoples houses when they sleep and the Dark Brotherhood missions were awesome. Despite all it's flaws, a pretty good game.

Started my second playthrough of Deus Ex, the asshole playthrough. Whereas before I was nice and did everything good, this time I'm a dick to everyone. I killed all the cops in detroit and sold their weapons. So now I'm about to head to china with 35k in credits. Don't know why I took the time to pick up a weapon, run it to the guy, sell, then run back so many times, as money really isn't too useful in the game. But it was fun amassing a fortune before I even get very far. And seeing all the dead cops laying around the streets is so funny. The civilians are all scared of me too as I walk by.

I am kind of disappointed that during the police station mission, I killed every person in the station, yet nobody at sarif reprimanded me. Nobody really gave much of a shit that I was an asshole murderer who killed an entire police station. Sure, the papers talk about it, but that's just a few paragraphs. Also, the 'stealth' kills are anything but. During my first playthrough I didn't do one stealth kill so I didn't know, but they alert everyone in the area. It's fucked. So I've taken to doing knockouts and then just using my silencer on their face while they're asleep.

I have no idea what I'm doing in Deus Ex. I like it, but it seems like I keep getting sidequests that require me to have hacking skills way higher than I do now, and other such stuff. For instance, right now I have to get into the morgue in the police station. How the hell am I supposed to do that? The manbaby at the front desk bitched me out and won't let me through, and when I finally sneaked in through the back, I was greeted with a hacking console two levels higher than I was, and the cops saw me and started taking me out. I just don't get it.

There is a route that requires no hacking skills. One would figure that since you decided not to put your points into hacking, then you'd at least pay attention to other ways of doing things.

I really hope amazon ships gears 3 to me tomorrow. Or else ordering it from amazon with the release date shipping was a waste. I could easily just pick it up from somewhere. Anyone have any experience with amazon for games? It's my first time with them and it's not showing that it's shipped and the deliver date is tomorrow. Makes no sense. It says "Shipping soon". Anyways, when I do get the game, first thing I'm going to do is buy the 'Garish' weapon skin so I can kill people with my flowery weapon. Maybe even the 'Deadly cute' pink one for the same reason.

I ordered LA Noire with Amazon and went with the release date shipping. They had a foul-up with the shipping, so it got to me on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. And they sent an apology letter, and they refunded my shipping, and they gave me a $5 voucher. It was pretty awesome.

I'd rather not have that happen to me though. I paid 99 cents for the release date shipping and don't care enough about that refund. Plus I fear if I have it pushed back another day, my online gears buddies will get antsy and start the co-op without me. That's the only downside to this 4 person co-op is that if 1 dude is ready, the other 3 will probably go on ahead without him.

I dunno; the city layout confuses me so much, I can't figure much out. I blew my chance with Haas, and my friend told me he jumped from another rooftop onto the police rooftop, but I can't find any building I can climb up, no matter where I go. I never order games I really want on Amazon, simply because they ship on or to release day which is...well, too late. I prefer to have my games as early as possible. That whole release day stuff is stupid anyway. As soon as my retailer gets the game, he should sell it. So far, though, I'm finding that the best strategy is to kick enemies to the ground, then stab them in the face until they die. Kinda makes throwing seem inefficient when you can easily knock enemies down and hit them for bonus damage.

On the other hand, his rage skill makes it easy to wipe out hordes of zombies at once.

Aside from the mass effect thing where it almost always takes a few seconds to load the detail on all the weapons, armor, walls, and such, I haven't seen any. It runs just fine. I thought it was a decent game. It was interesting to see how your choices early on would affect things further down the road, and using the intelligence market mechanic to bend the levels to your advantage was neat. It just needed a bit more work with balancing, what with the pistol being the ultimate weapon and everything else being reserved mainly for knobbing around.

Dark Souls. The open world seems pretty cool so far, i was worried it all look kinda the same but in the six hours i'v played i think they change up the environments quite a bit.
but in a game where a lot of the fun is the exploration i wont spoil any locales i'v seen here.

I also like the some of the other changes they've made so far. Like using estus flask to heal yourself and how you can only refill the flask at the bonfires, but when you use the bonfire it respawns all the enemies in the world. so you have to make from one bonfire to the next with limited healing items. unlike the first one where you could just carry a butt-ton of herbs and just constantly heal yourself, now you have to worry about every little bit of damage you take.

A few thousand regular souls. :( And I used the thing that upgrades your estus flask by mistake. It gives you five humanity, though, so I made sure to use it to upgrade some important bonfires. If I wasn't going to heal for more, I was going to make sure I had more of the damn things.

I'm level 47 now and the latest areas I've unlocked are the one with the ghosts that you can conveniently travel to with the elevator under the initial bonfire and the other is the poisonous town underground, which seems like they recycled a lot from Demon's Souls, but made everything way deadlier. I found both entrances to it - one of them is fairly straightforward in that you unlock the entrance after you beat the boss of the Depths (fucking sewer bugeye things). I actually found the other entrance by just exploring, and you can get to it from the cool Valley of the Drakes. I killed the poisonous dragon and got what he dropped, though - a dragon scale to upgrade the weapon I didn't have. >: Oh well. There's always NEW GAME +.

Fallout: New Vegas. Finally got all the DLC's. Finished Honest Hearts. Didn't like it. The Burning Man is a mysterious and eerie character in the main game, and Honest Hearts removed the mystery almost immediately. No build up or nothing. I do not approve of this. When talking about Fallout DLC's, it wasn't as bad as Operation Anchorage or Mothership Zeta, but it was still pretty lame.

Next up, Dead Money.

So it's kinda like the story me and my friend's had about 'the dead man', a scary being that sneaks into your house and fucks with you. Then during a sleepover one of the 4 of us wets the bed. Everyone denies doing it, so they blamed it on the dead man. Why the hell would the dead man wet the bed? It turns out it was just one of my asshole friends <--- possibly me, I don't remember.

I guess that's nothing like the burning man, but I just remembered that in my head. Back to video games!
