I think for a community of professed Christians, it's pretty strange that they seem to be blatantly ignoring what in the old days would be taken for a 100% accurate smackdown from God. EVE is pretty complicated, but it's fun. A lot of people have two accounts and play two characters simultaneously, running two instances of the game on their machine. But it's a lot of work, and I can't justify spending the time (and money) on it...

It's definitely worth checking out the the trial. Every time my ship warped, I got a warm fuzzy feeling :) (which is a lot of the travelling in the game)

I never got into Eve online. I actually haven't gotten really into an mmorpg for more than 6 months since I played the original everquest for 3 years. I really want an mmo to play. If the pre-cu Starwars Galaxies was still going I'd be there..I miss my Wookiee named Danny Glover, mayor of Smiley Town. Oh how the starwars nerds hated my town...they made all kinds of polls on getting rid of it because it "destroyed the ambiance of the starwars universe" to have a place called Smiley Town on the map. People sent raids to the town to fuck with it but we had a good defensive army, so no harm done. I miss old swg.

In retrospect, we were trespassing on their grounds. They could have been more hospitable, true.

Not far from the church complex is a sort of fortress, in the woods. Not sure what it is, but it has guard towers and looks somewhat like the Branch Davidian compound. We didn't know if it was part of their complex, and we were investigating to see if it had anything identifying it as part of the church, just to satisfy our own curiosity. It was creepy and weird.

We were run off the property by menacing parishoners in trucks. We weren't 100% sure we were on the property, but apparently we were.

I have a friend who went to a service there and she said the inside of the church is like a mall, with escalators and coffee shops.
