You're making the wait that much harder by doing this.
Rob (COIN-OP TV) (Guest) on 01/26/2011 5:11 pm
can't wait to play more of this at SC3 in March!
Dude (Guest) on 01/26/2011 9:07 pm
How about more updates to the site? I miss the days when articles were out every couple of days... I won't lie, I never play the flash games here. I just read the articles which I love.
Julio on 01/27/2011 1:20 am
Never expected to see Abobo cruising through the depths of Quick Man's stage...
Hahahaha (Guest) on 01/27/2011 9:47 am
I agree with Dude.
Wtf is going on here?
I don't play the flash games either.
More updates plz.
What happened to Protoclown? To that other guy, the guy who would always regale us? Max Burbank. That was his name. Who else here remembers the days when these people actually posted articles on the site?
But no. Now we get nothing. Nothing but teases and movie discussion blog posts.
Bring back old mockery :(
-RoG- on 01/27/2011 4:08 pm
ChrisGlass - Heheh, the long wait will be worth it in the end, for this will be a ridiculously large NES tribute when it's all said 'n done.
Dude - That's alright man, the flash games aren't for everybody, just as the articles aren't for everybody. This site has almost 15 years worth of content for people to go digging through, so there's bound to be something that everyone likes.
As for new articles all the time, sorry to disappoint, but I doubt that's going to happen. Including myself, we had four writers working on churning out content on a regular basis, but those times have changed. Max Burbank got a job a while back and started spending more time with his family, so he's not writing anymore. Protoclown's schedule hasn't changed at all, but I think he just got tired of writing all the time, so he only does new material once in a blue moon. Dr. Boogie is still around, but only has time to do a new article every month or so.
That leaves me... and I've gotten much more into game development and videos than anything. I'm currently working on Abobo and trying to come up with some other projects to work on. Been trying to brainstorm a Youtube series for one thing. I'm still writing for the site, but I'm not doing new full-sized articles every day. You guys have always seen me move from one project to another: working on rants, PickleMan comics, toy articles, movie reviews, Pixel Pals strips, Doc Mock's Movie Mausoleum, travel pictorials, various flash games... I never like to stick to doing one thing all the time. Doing this has always kept me productive, but I don't expect everybody to enjoy every single project I work on. I know some people would love to see the same old content churned out for eternity, but that's just not the kind of person I am. I like to stay busy with whatever happens to be interesting to me at the time. At the moment, Abobo is one of those things and I simply can't wait to unveil the finished project.
Julio - He'll be going to more places still. Abobo is going to do a hell of a lot of traveling in this game... just you wait and see.
ColdFusion (Guest) on 01/27/2011 7:15 pm
awesomesauce :D
Is this related to the screenshot with the mermaid we saw before?
-RoG- on 01/27/2011 9:06 pm
ColdFusion - Same game, but no, this is a completely different level than the screenshot with the mermaid from before.
HowardC on 01/27/2011 11:38 pm
Alhtough I wouldn't have put it like Dude did, I tend to agree.
Unlike him I LIKE the flash games, but then again they usually give me around 5-10 minutes of amusement and then I'm over them. On the other hand I used to get daily enjoyment from the articles.
Perhaps if everyone is so busy you simply need to get more writers?
-RoG- on 01/27/2011 11:49 pm
Howard - I recently opened up the Weeklies section to take open submissions from anybody. You can see the post about that here: http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69705796
As for regular site articles, I'm honestly not interested in adding on new writers for the larger articles. I-Mockery started out with just me working on it for many years and if it eventually needs to go back to being like that, I'm ok with it. Hopefully that won't happen, cuz I love what Max, Boogie and Proto for their different writing styles. With the four of us, I always felt the site had something to offer everybody.
Speaking of the other writers, I know that Boogie and Proto both have new articles in the works... so hopefully we'll see 'em soon.
Jaimas on 01/28/2011 12:02 pm
Just give RoG time. The site's seen bigger and harsher dry spells during past events wherein I-Mockery's vets couldn't post for quite some time.
This place really has yet to disappoint. Just have some patience. :3
Aries on 01/28/2011 12:56 pm
As I recall, Proto still hasn't gotten around to finishing his "10 Things I Like and Hate About the Star Wars Prequels" series. Just Episode 3 left to go!
10,000 Volt Ghost on 01/28/2011 1:20 pm
I know just writing the few reviews that were put up here ended up taking quite some time to fit into my schedule. It gave me a greater appreciation for how long all of the other shit must take.
Jaimas on 01/28/2011 9:28 pm
In his defense, Aries, he would need to find things he liked about Episode 3. I know I sure as hell would be hard-pressed to find anything good about that one, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO moment aside.
ColdFusion (Guest) on 01/28/2011 10:16 pm
It had violence, at least. None of this 'getting hit and dissolving into clothes' kinda shit (what, did Obi-Wan get raptured?) nahh there was scorched flesh..
saturnknight on 01/29/2011 8:19 am
RoG,
that quickman stage was a nightmare for me even as a kid, if it wasn't for Flash Man's time stopper I would never have finished the game because of this stage.
you're going to drive many gamers nuts with an abobo stage of that.... although it reminds me of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion
Julio on 01/29/2011 4:14 pm
I also find the Slinky Piranha Plant amusing.
Nowhere (Guest) on 01/29/2011 4:15 pm
anyone else still checking for new pixel pals?
ColdFusion (Guest) on 01/30/2011 1:38 pm
every day :D
It takes long breaks but then it updates again and it is completely worth it.
Popcornmonster on 01/31/2011 1:30 am
How about you host a film festival or something? I'd like to go head to head with you. Winner gets a box of cheap magic stars cereal.
GrindhouseCinema (Guest) on 01/31/2011 4:18 pm
As a long time reader of the website I can honestly say... just keep doing what you do Rog. I've always enjoyed this place because of the fact that its got so many different things on it. Besides, as a writer myself I would never want someone to feel obligated that they have to upload a new, lengthy articles once every other day. You just burn yourself out and the content starts to suffer.
Any word yet on when/if Doc Mock will come back? I do miss watching that show. If I may give an idea... little short 10 minute "Doc Mock Reviews" on YouTube would be cool. You could cover current and former horror movies and stuff.
NotDavid on 02/10/2011 8:08 pm
So amped for this game, Rog. Make it the best you can!
Lia (Guest) on 06/28/2011 9:57 pm
