Make Suggestions For Our Upcoming Halloween Pixel Poster!

Due to popular demand, we're officially working on a new pixel poster... and this time it's going to be a Halloween themed one!

With that in mind, please post your suggestions for characters, monsters and any generally spooky things you'd love to see in a Halloween pixel print! Be sure to make as many suggestions as you can come up with... the more we receive, the more likely it is that we'll include some of 'em on this poster. And to help get your creative juices flowing, here's a little preview of a few things you can expect to see on the finished print:

A preview of I-Mockery's upcoming Halloween Pixel poster!

I'm really excited about this latest one since Halloween is pretty much my favorite thing in the world and we already have some killer plans for it. And yes, for those of you who haven't had a chance to pick up our summer or winter themed prints, they're still available.

Alright, start posting your suggestions here in this thread and maybe your ideas will end up on our big Halloween print!

I’m Setting Booty Traps!

Rog as Data from The Goonies in the Tournament of Nerds! Data from The Goonies costume!

Last weekend, I performed in another Tournament of the Nerds show at the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre here in LA, and this time I was debating on behalf of The Goonies. Naturally, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to make a Data costume to wear while I performed on stage. I'll always jump at the chance to dress up as one of my favorite characters, even if Halloween is still a long ways off. It was a really great show and I even got to give a dramatic "this is our time" speech from the movie. Big thanks to everybody who came out and to my fellow nerdy performers.

By the way, anybody who dares to take a ride up Troy's bucket had best beware of my pinchers of peril! (more...)

The Great Friday The 13th Debate!

The Great Debate: What is the best Friday the 13th movie?

Alright folks, today is the 13th of May and it's a Friday, so there's no way in hell we're not gonna talk about the Friday the 13th films. I've written about the movies before, including Jason's 10 Best Kills, but it's high time we have a bigger discussion about the franchise as a whole. With decades of death on his resume, Jason Voorhees will forever be one of the all-time greatest horror movie icons, but the question I'd like to pose today is simple: What is the best Friday the 13th movie and why?

Now before you rush to answer right away, think about all the films for a minute. Do you like the original where Jason's role was more of a tragic back-story or maybe you're all about him wearing a potato sack on his head in part II. Maybe you relish seeing his kills in a gloriously cheesy 3D presentation. Perhaps you're a big fan of "The Final Chapter" which was anything but and featured Crispin Glover's infamous dance, or maybe you have a pure adoration for the almighty Reggie in part V. What about Jason's graveyard resurrection in part VI or his battle against the telekinesis girl in part VII? And let's not forget his excursions outside of Camp Crystal Lake to Manhattan, hell and outer space! That's quite a hefty load of murder and mayhem to consider, so take your time.

For the purpose of this discussion, let's leave out the Freddy vs. Jason flick since that's more of a blend of two franchises, and let's leave out the remake since Jason taking a prisoner for an entire film instead of killing her goes against everything we love about the guy. So yeah, keep the discussion to the classic Friday the 13th films - part 1 through Jason X.

Also, don't just list off your favorite film in the series and nothing more. Back up your choice with an explanation of exactly why you think it's the best Friday the 13th movie and stands above the rest. Alright, sharpen up those machetes and hack away at your keyboards. Go!

A Pile Of Intellivision Games.

A pile of Intellivision games! Tron: Solar Sailer, SNAFU, Tron: Deadly Discs, Bomb Squad, Masters of the Universe: The Power of He-Man!

Forgot about this free little pile of Intellivision games I got at the last SC3 meet-up... anybody here ever play these games? Intellivision was the first video game system I ever owned and I have many fond memories of it. From playing my longest game of Pitfall ever when I was sick in bed one day and playing countless innings of Baseball against my father, to performing huge belly flops in Frog Bog and being decimated by invisible robots on the later levels of Night Stalker, I'll always love that system. Speaking of the Intellivision, I've written a few articles on some of my favorite games for it including White Water! and Buzz Bombers in case you haven't seen 'em yet.

Whether you had an Intellivision, an Atari 2600, a NES or something else... post about the first video game system you ever owned, what some of your favorite games on it were and what made you love 'em so much.
