Oh Joy! I Have Bad Sectors!
So my laptop started acting up this week and after I was unable to resolve the problem myself, I decided to take it in to the local repair shop. Well, they ran some diagnostics on it and it turns on my main hard drive is filled with bad sectors and is on the brink of death. Eugh. What a pain in the ass. I don't know about you guys, but having to reinstall everything on a computer is a major annoyance that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. I'm trying to look at the bright side here though; the computer itself is fine, it's just a $100 drive that's going bad which they'll replace and I have very recent backups of just about everything that's important to me. Sure am glad I invested in that external backup drive a while back. So yeah, at least I don't need to buy a completely new laptop or anything.
Still, I decided to blow off some steam since that shitty Seagate hard drive is causing me all this grief with its bad sectors 'n all. So rather than slam my laptop on the ground, I decided to make an animated gif to demonstrate what really happened to my drive. (more...)

Wow... it sure has been a loooong two weeks since the last episode hasn't it? Well, the wait is almost over because Doc Mock's Movie Mausoleum returns with another LIVE show this Friday night (June 12th) at 10pm PST / 1am EST! And hey, those two weeks weren't spent doing nothing! Now you'll be able to watch the show in a much larger window! That's right, we'll be in widescreen format from now on! Not sure exactly how some of those old-ass movies are gonna look, but hey, it's a work in progress.
This Friday, my special guest will be David Harris from one of the best improv teams in Los Angeles, Last Day of School! I've unearthed yet another noggin-numbing movie that you won't want to miss! And as always, Miss Diagnosis will be keeping you guys company in the chat room as she fields your questions and comments for us to respond to LIVE on the air!
And remember, in addition to being on thestream.tv, the show will also be streaming live on both justin.tv and ustream.tv in their "thestreamdottv" channels. You can also try the channel on stickam.com as well in case none of the other ones are workin' for ya. The Secret Of Monkey Island: Special Edition. Or As I Like To Call It, “HOLY CRAP!”
Look! A three-headed monkey! Yes indeed, I grew up on a ton of amazing games in what people consider to be "the golden age of video gaming", but if I had to name one game as my all-time favorite, it would have to be The Secret of Monkey Island. So, it should come as no surprise that I'm excited as hell about how they just announced an upcoming Special Edition of the game (along with some new installments to the series). For the special edition, they redrew the entire game and recorded voice tracks for all the characters which actually look and sound pretty damned good. They seriously did a great job staying faithful to the original as you'll soon see. As if that's not enough, the game actually allows you to switch seamlessly between the new artwork style and the original pixelated graphics depending on which you prefer. How's that for pleasing the fans?

I really couldn't be more excited about this game and I hope those of you who never had a chance to play The Secret of Monkey Island when you were younger will give it a shot. It's really the game that got me interested in making games of my own because it was the perfect blend of humor and adventure. Hell of a good soundtrack too.

The network is going on a 2-week hiatus so they can upgrade the site so that all of the shows can be viewed in widescreen! So yeah, when we return on June 12th, the show is going to look even better for all of ya!

Server Problems And A Lil’ Treat.
Hey guys, sorry the site has been acting up over the past few days. We've been working on getting some o' the problems with the server worked out along with a few coding glitches. Everything appears to be up 'n running smoothly again now, so let's hope it stays that way. If you encounter any errors on the site, please report them to me so we can get 'em taken care of pronto.
For those of you who didn't catch the live episode of Doc Mock's Movie Mausoleum last week, we actually had a lengthy post-show that was a lot of fun. The post-shows are never archived, so that's yet another reason to watch the show when it airs LIVE. However, I did manage to get a 5-minute clip from the post-post-show (yes the show after the post-show) in which my guest, Alex Berg, and I invaded the control booth to get down and boogie. You'll see the dancing start around the 1 minute clip. Good times!
