You CAN Shoot The Dog From Duck Hunt! Hallelujah!

HAR! HAR! YOU FAILED TO KILL HARMLESS ANIMALS WITH A GUN!

One of the earliest Flash games I ever made was "Kill The Dog From Duck Hunt" - a simple game which allowed you to get sweet revenge over that damned dog for laughing at you whenever you missed your ducky targets in the classic NES game, Duck Hunt. I figured I was in the minority when it came to people who wanted to see that 8-bit dog die a painful death, but that silly little Flash game got a huge response and inspired me to keep making more games. The reason I made that little game is because the original NES version of Duck Hunt did not allow you to shoot that dog, despite there being some urban legends suggesting you could. While it's true that you can't shoot the dog on the NES game, I recently found out that there IS a way for you to legitimately gun down that cocky canine without having to resort to my homebrew Flash game to blow off some steam. Take a look: (more...)

Trick-Or-Treat Adventure Quest: Download The Home Version!

Trick-Or-Treat Adventure Quest: Commander Claw fights the forces of evil on your own computer!

Remember that massive tribute to classic adventure games we released last Halloween: Trick-Or-Treat Adventure Quest? Of course you do! Chances are you're still busy trying to figure out who the hell to get some candy corn from so you can solve that C.H.U.D. quest in the sewers. Well, I just wanted to let you guys know that we've finally put up the downloadable "home version" of the game. It still has the same auto-save feature as the web version, so any progress you make will be saved even after you close the program (we tested it a bunch, but please let us know if you encounter any problems with this feature). Also, if you're on a slower computer, I *highly* recommend getting this version of the game as it will run a lot faster than the web-browser version. (more...)

Here Comes Peter Cottontail… With An Easter Basket Of Diabetes.

I DRINK YOUR STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE! I DRINK IT UP! DRAAAIIINNAAAGE!

As I'm sure many of you have already seen, store shelves are officially in high gear for Easter. While I've always thought of it as one of the most useless holidays, I'll still take any chance I can get to enjoy some o' the seasonal candies associated with it. I have to be honest with you though, it's going to be hard to top the sweets from recent years such as the edible crucifix or the infamous nipple egg. So far I haven't seen anything on the shelves that quite compares to those gems. (more...)

Fruity Nuggets: The Ultimate Generic Cereal?

Home of Fruity Nuggets!

I like my local grocery store, Pavilions. It's close by, they carry almost everything I like, and it's open all night so I can shop there when there are no lines to wait in. Yes, I still go to Trader Joes and Whole Foods (aka: Whole Paycheck) every week, but places like that obviously don't have certain bare necessities in life such as Pop Tarts and Glacier Freeze flavored Gatorade. That's where Pavilions comes in. So I was in there the other day perusing the cereal aisle when I came upon a generic gem that nearly brought me to tears... (more...)

Rotoscoping Needs To Die.

whoah...

Yes, this could easily go on one of my old Things That Must Be Destroyed lists, but I haven't written one of those in years, so putting it in the blog here will do just fine. For those of you who don't know what rotoscoping is, it's a form of animation where artists literally trace each frame of a filmed video to give it a weird hand-drawn look... but you can still tell it was filmed. If you saw the recent film A Scanner Darkly, then you've seen a good example of interpolated rotoscoping. So why does rotoscoping need to die? Because I'm absolutely sick of seeing it. Yes, it can be a good tool for some animators 'n all, I understand that, but allow me to explain why I think it's getting way out of hand. (more...)

1st Floor Elevator Users

BASTARDS!!!!!

I don't know if it's simply bad luck or what, but anytime I'm in our elevator lately, I keep getting stopped by somebody on the first floor before we make it down to ground level. You know, people who actually feel the need to use an elevator to travel the equivalent of one flight of stairs. I know, I know... there are starving people in the world and my problems with riding in an elevator aren't that big a deal in the grand scheme o' things, but hear me out. (more...)
