I remember playing something like this, except the people were the actual band. Along the way you had to stop to get gas and food, and when you reached a gig you had to play along in a Guitar Hero type fashion.

JakeOfAllTrades is Leaving the Loveline forum for a while.
When I came across this part of the forums, I thought it would be a bit like the book Train Man, where every geek under the Rising Sun who has an internet connection helped out an Otaku who saved a girl on a train.

To my disappointment I did not find this vibe of helping others and was sadly mistaken that I could find help here.

I haven't made the best impression on you guys, it seems clear. It seems I have been a bit rash in introducing my misanthropic portion to you when I could have shown you my warm and fuzzy happy side instead. Until I feel ready for that warm and fuzzy side to come back (it will be soon, it'll probably take a week, since I just went back to school for the new term and I'm getting used to my old friends not being there anymore).

I'm actually better at talking to real people than I had you believe, in my grumpy postings of woe. I discovered that actually talking to people is a much better way of starting relationships than bitching about how nobody likes me.

The "ownage" I got for being a grump was deservedly delivered. I made myself look like an e-jackass, and I got my just reward for it. However, I hardly think a continued grilling of me is going to make me want to change for the better, and especially not remarks in the Understanding Women thread inquiring about my mother in a way I hardly feel comfortable with.

Yes, I have issues. But I shouldn't have brought up mine with people I barely know. The occasional post heckling some movie on another part of the forum seems to fit me better than to bunker myself in an intellectual hole and trying to defend myself when I know I'm in the wrong. I screwed up big time. And it's going to take some time for you to understand the real me.

I'll be gone from this forum for a little while. The least I expect is an apology from Tadao for his insensitivity. I just don't want to make myself look any more like a ranting idiot.

Train Man is one of my favorite books, and I hoped this section of the forums would have similar advice that the forum dwellers in that book gave: men's fashion tips, how to talk to girls without sounding like a creep, etc.

But it didn't turn out like I hoped. I'm also partly responsible for it. If you can forgive me, I will make my best efforts to forgive you. My enjoyment of I-Mockery articles has not been compromised by this debacle. However it will take some time before I feel comfortable coming back to Loveline.

I know it seems pointless to own the Shawshank Redemption on DVD since it airs on TV practically every day, but there's a parody of the movie included with the DVD called "The Sharktank Redemption" and Morgan Freeman's son is in it. So last summer I was at home and the neighbor(I think--I know nothing of my neighbors, and I'm fine with that)boy seemed to have lost his dog, or mentally challenged sibling (I don't care which). I think I posted a few pages earlier about how I've been congested and unable to breathe since Thanksgiving. Turns out I had bronchitis. The only way I found this out was because about a week ago I started throwing up and I came down with a hefty fever that absolutely floored me. I'm not sure if the fever is related to the bronchitis, but I've never been that sick in my life (except maybe one other time, but it didn't last this long) and now I have this weird feeling of lost time. I haven't been outside in a week (except once to go to the doctor's) and I've been rotating between sleeping 14+ hours a out of the day at completely odd times, and I'm only now starting to get back on track since I'm off the antibiotics, which were almost making me sicker than the fever. :(

Edit: Oh and this was my third visit to a doctor. I went to three different doctors and was first prescribed amoxicilin for a nasal infection (which is a weak antibiotic generally given to children - the pills were bright Barbie pink and the size of a fist) which did nothing. The next doctor I visited was rather irate with me not having insurance, so much so that when he looked at my chart and found I had none he banged on the table. This is in spite of the fact that I pre-paid up front. :rolleyes He prescribed me bioxisomething (another weak antibiotic) and shoved some samples of Allegra into a bag and shoved me out the door. The only way I got any actual treatment was to go to the more expensive office that specializes for patients without insurance. I paid 169 dollars after x-rays and an injection, but I got better treatment by far, and I didn't even pay up front.

I said "yeah, heard of of it" and lit up a fag.

Then i pulled out a cigarette, nonfiltered, and ate it with Liver of Fag and a nice bottle of Chianti.

Seriously, though, as a heavy smoker i am occasionally scared by that. I under the delusion that if i can ride a bike 10 - 15 miles a week, it may offset that.

If you're on a lot of antibiotics I've heard it's worthwhile to consume pro-biotic products (those disgusting yogurt drinks etc.), as the antibiotics will kill the bacteria in your stomach which helps digest your food.
